I'm the founder of Fight Stammer and a person who stutters.
Growing up in an environment where I was often perceived as "different" because of my speech, I was constantly afraid of being defined by how I spoke rather than what I had to say. I wished there was a space where individuals like me could express themselves freely. But nothing like that existed at the time. Over the years, I met many incredibly talented young people who grappled with the same fears. Their stories inspired me to create this community.
I grew up in Junagadh, India, but have lived and studied in the US, Scotland, and Canada. I currently work as a fundraiser for The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) in Toronto, where I raise money for neuroscience research and impactful mental health initiatives. Previously, I was a student and researcher in Philosophy at the University of Richmond, University of St. Andrews, and Simon Fraser University.
When I'm not working or mentoring, I like to run, lift, play volleyball, and volunteer at local nonprofits.
