We help people who stutter find a voice
We are a community of young people with similar life experiences . We come together to celebrate the highs, uplift each other through the lows, and embrace our voices to become the best versions of ourselves.
We are all about peers helping each other. Our mentors work 1:1 with you to share experiences, offer life and career advice, and push you to reach your full potential.
We think public speaking is one of the most powerful ways to build confidence and discover our voice. By stepping on the stage, we turn fears into strengths and hesitation into confidence.
Fight Stammer is a community of young people around the world who stutter or have speech disorders. Our support group members come from 20+ countries and include young adults, university students, and early career professionals. We also run a mentorship program for members who want 1:1 support from experienced mentors who have navigated similar challenges in their personal and professional lives.
Absolutely! Many of our members have no prior experience with public speaking. Our support groups are a great way to practice speaking in front of a group in a low-pressure setting and improve fluency. Over time, we hope you'll develop the confidence and skills you need to step in the spotlight and speak in front of a real audience.
Our support group meets over Zoom monthly or bimonthly. There is no set topic but our conversations often revolve around self-improvement, career, relationships, health and fitness, philosophy — and, of course, stuttering!
Our mentors come from a variety of backgrounds — they are successful entrepreneurs, engineers, social workers, researchers, and content creators. They have faced the challenges of stuttering firsthand and are committed to supporting others.
If you are someone who stutters and are passionate about working 1:1 with others, we encourage you to sign up to be a mentor! Becoming a mentor generally requires a time commitment of 1-2 hours per week. You can find our mentor application here.
No. Fight Stammer does not provide speech therapy. Our support groups are simply meant to be a space to exchange ideas and communicate freely. If you’re looking for clinical support, we recommend working with a licensed and experienced Speech-Language Pathologist.
Nothing. Fight Stammer's programs are and will always remain free of charge.
